Purple Heart Ceremony for Pvt. John J. Andrews (WWI)

Private John J. Andrews, a resident of Lilly, Pennsylvania, served with the American Expeditionary Forces during World War I and was assigned to Company G, 2nd Battalion, 39th Infantry Regiment.
He was wounded in action in the Meuse-Argonne Offensive, the largest and deadliest campaign in American military history, on September 28, 1918, and died the following day.
Please join the family of Private Andrews as he will be posthumously awarded the Purple Heart 108 years after being wounded in action.
In case on inclement weather, the ceremony will be held at the Memorial Community Center of Lilly-Washington (directly across from the park) located at 101 Memorial Dr. Lilly, PA 15938
