SUMMARY:2025 CCCITP Craft Show and Basket Party Fundraiser Benefiting the Veterans Monument Wall Project
DESCRIPTION:  \nVeteran Community Initiatives\, Inc. (VCI) is pleased to support the Central City Veterans Monument Wall Project\, a project in which funds are being raised to restore the tank and monument walls that have been dedicated to Veterans as far back as the Civil War era. \nThe tank and walls that have been historically placed in the middle of Central City many years ago have accumulated wear and tear over being exposed to the elements and public use. The names of Veterans\, especially those of the Civil War era\, are now close to being illegible. In response\, local community members have come together to raise awareness and host fundraisers to restore the tank and walls using new\, weather- and wear-resistant materials in a collective effort that will preserve this dedicated memorial space for generations to come. \nPlease consider joining Central City Christmas in the Park group\, Central City VFW Post 7457\, VCI\, and other local organizations in this important project to pay tribute to and honor our military members past and present. \nBasket donations can be left at the Central City Borough Office (314 Central Avenue\, Suite 201\, Central City\, PA 15926) Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Special arrangements for pick up can be made by contacting Tanya Campbell at (814) 242-8369 or Jen Jarvis at (814) 248-6195. \nTicket prices are as follows: \n\n$10 / first sheet (includes 26 tickets)\n$5 / additional sheets\nHigh Value Baskets: 3 tickets for $5\n\nFood\, crafts\, and vendor items available for purchase separately. \nMonetary donations can be made by check or PayPal. Please make checks payable to “Christmas in the Park”. PayPal donations can be directed to www.PayPal.me/christmasinthepark. \nThe basket party fundraiser will be held on Saturday\, March 15th and Sunday\, March 16th at Our Lady Queen of Angels in Central City from 9 am to 4 pm both days. SUMMARY:Vietnam Era Veterans Recognition Day
DESCRIPTION:Veteran Community Initiatives\, Inc.\, in collaboration with the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 364\, Conemaugh Valley Veterans\, and Disabled American Veterans Johnstown Chapter 2\, is pleased to announce and welcome the community to the 8th Annual Vietnam Era Veterans Recognition Day Ceremony. Our groups will gather to recognize and honor Vietnam Veterans from Cambria and Somerset counties that were killed in action (KIA) and who remain missing in action (MIA). \nVeterans of all era are encouraged to participate. This is a family-friendly event filled with resource sharing\, networking\, memorabilia displays\, and music provided by the Three of Hearts Band and Johnstown Symphony Orchestra. No admission fees or tickets are required!  \nDue to the holiday falling on a Saturday (Vietnam Veterans Recognition Day always falls on March 29th)\, this year the event will be held on Thursday\, March 27th\, 2025. \nMorning pastries\, coffee\, and a light lunch will be available for all attendees. \nDoors will open at 9:00 am\, a brief ceremony will be held at 10:00 am\, and the event will conclude at 1:00 pm. \nIf you are interested in being involved or if you have any questions about the Vietnam Veterans Recognition Day Ceremony\, please contact the VCI office at (814) 255-0355.
