81st Anniversary of the Flag Raising on Iwo Jima

The Conemaugh Valley Detachment #287 of the Marine Corps League will honor the 81st anniversary of the flag raising on Iwo Jima, during a ceremony at Sgt. Michael Strank Park Memorial Park at 11am February 21, 2026. The park is located in Franklin Borough at 1149 Main St Johnstown, PA 15909.
Immediately following the ceremony, a reception will be held at Green Diamond Industrial (also in Franklin Borough) 1317 Main St Johnstown PA 15909 with Sgt. Maj. Paul Anderson USMC (Ret.) serving as the guest speaker.
