National K-9 Veterans Day
March 13
K-9 Veterans Day is celebrated annually on March 13th to honor the service, sacrifice, and dedication of all military working dogs (MWDs) and service dogs in the U.S., recognizing them as vital members of the armed forces and first responders, with the date marking the official formation of the U.S. Army’s K-9 Corps in 1942. It’s a day to acknowledge their crucial roles in detection, patrol, search & rescue, and protection, celebrating their bravery alongside their human handlers. It’s a day to remember our four-legged partners who’ve served alongside our men and women in uniform since 1942!
